Maybury Material Handling is looking for a motivated individual who loves to weld and do fabrication work. In this position, you will fabricate and assemble customized structural metal products such as mezzanines, stairs and a variety of fabricated material handling products.
Major Responsibilities:
- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Develops layout and plans sequence of operations.
- Measures, marks, drills, and deburrs ferrous metals of all shapes and sizes. Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto workpiece.
- Sets up and operates fabricating machines and equipment such as torches, drill presses, punches, metal cutting saws and grinders. Operates overhead crane.
- Hammers, chips, and grinds workpiece to cut, bend, and straighten metal. Positions, aligns, fits, and welds together parts (mig welding)
- Designs and constructs templates and fixtures. Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications.
- Primes and finish paints fabricated items in spray paint booth.
- Unloads and stages steel material.
Qualifications:
- High school or general education degree (GED); at least 6 months welding or fabrication experience; welding certifications preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Must be able to frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally maneuver 100 lbs.
